The Clarion Hotel, Winnipeg
Villa Rosa has been providing services in Winnipeg to young single pregnant women for 112 years. Villa Rosa and our Title Sponsor, the Paletta Family, would like you to join us for a very special evening at the Clarion Hotel. Last year, the Celebration of Motherhood Dinner was a huge success. Tickets sold out several weeks before the dinner, everyone had a great time and over $40,000 was raised. This year we are giving you the opportunity to purchase tickets early so you don’t miss out on what promises to be another great event.

Lindor Reynolds, Columnist for The Winnipeg Free Press, will host the evening. There will be fantastic prizes for you to win at the silent auction.

Corporate tables of 8 are $1200 per table.
Individual tickets are $150 per person.
A tax receipt for $95 will be issued for each ticket.

Please make your cheque payable to Villa Rosa Inc.

The proceeds from this event will go to both Villa Rosa and to our Endowment Fund in order to support the young women to graduate and to provide scholarships for post secondary education. Education is the key to the future, and Villa Rosa needs your assistance to support our young women to become self sufficient, participating members of the Winnipeg community.

We are 4 only months away from the 16th National Canadian Child & Youth Care Conference being held in Winnipeg.  We are excited to say that a few local agencies and businesses have agreed to donate products, services or money, but much more is required.  This National Conference is a great opportunity for participation by those who are concerned with helping children and youth.

Author Beatrice Culleton Mosionier visited Villa Rosa in January 2009 and spoke to residents and staff to celebrate the donation of a number of copies of Mosionier’s 1983 novel, In Search of April Raintree, by her publisher, Portage & Main Press. We are grateful for the solid financial support from the Province of Manitoba, United Way and our two-year grant from the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs. We are thankful for the support of an anonymous donor who helped us replace our old boiler this year, which will help us save on heating bills in the future. Thank you also to our staff and volunteers for their endless dedication and hard work.

The annual investment return is used to support Villa Rosa residents to stay in school and to provide post secondary scholarships. This past year, Villa Rosa awarded three Independence Through Education Awards. Our graduates are pursuing careers in law enforcement, opening a business, and becoming a medical technician. We wish them all great success in their endeavours.

Thank you to the community of Winnipeg for your continued support and gifts of your time, money, and practical donations of furniture, clothing and household items over the last year. Our moms and babies enjoy and appreciate your generosity.
